The Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club (MLJWC) is honored to announce our 2018-2019 major grant
beneficiary, Jeremiah’s Place.
Jeremiah’s Place, Pittsburgh’s only crisis nursery, provides emergency care for children ages 0-6 for a few
hours or a few days based on the needs of the family, and is a secure and supportive solution for the families
who use their services. Jeremiah’s Place protects children and strengthens families by providing a haven of
respite, health, renewal, and support for children and families during times of crisis, large or small. The
organization strives to be a leading voice for child abuse prevention, thereby transforming the community into a
place that is safe, stable, and loving for all children.
Jeremiah’s Place is conveniently located in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh and is staffed by trauma
informed caregivers and social workers. All services are free, are available 24 hours a day, and, most
importantly, are judgement free.
Jeremiah’s Place has served hundreds of children and families since opening their doors on April 21, 2014, and
is thrilled to celebrate their 5th anniversary as this year’s major grant beneficiary.
To honor Jeremiah’s Place, MLJWC will hold its 22 nd Annual Charity Gala, “Color Your World – Every Child
is a Story Yet to be Told” with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Jeremiah’s Place. The event will take place
on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, 10 Children’s Way, Pittsburgh, PA
15212.
The benefit co-chairs are Shanyn Winnowski and Stephanie Kerby. This year’s MLJWC board is:
