Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club Charitable Fund

2010-2011 Grant Proposal Procedure

Background:

The Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club (MLJWC) is a civic, philanthropic and social organization founded in 1968. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with an annual membership of approximately 100 women from Pittsburgh’s South Hills. MLJWC concentrates on advancing the status of women and children in the region through volunteer efforts, and by providing financial support from the MLJWC Charitable Fund to well deserving charities.

Each year, MLJWC solicits grant proposals from eligible charities. MLJWC’s Philanthropy Committee reviews all applications and chooses which organization(s) will receive grants the following May, including selection of the organization that will be our major grant recipient. The Philanthropy Committee determines the amount awarded to our major grant recipient, as well as the amount of smaller grants to other well-deserving organizations.
