$500,000 has been donated to charities and community
concerns in the past 40 years of MLJWC's existence.
In 2007 alone, we donated over $30,000 to our chosen
beneficiary.
The
Philanthropy Committee was formed to focus on the club's
giving for greater impact. This fund
builds from year to year and establishes a legacy for
the club.

The
Philanthropy Committee solicits
grant proposals
from eligible charities and recommends recipients to the
board in accordance with our established by-laws.
The
Philanthropies are required to be non-profit
organizations that serve women and/or children in the
Pittsburgh area. In addition, the Philanthropy
Committee reviews applications for the $1,000
scholarship awarded annually to a Mt. Lebanon High
School Senior girl.
